Brenner's on the River Walk

I made a reservation a few weeks ahead for Mothers day to make sure we got a seat. We arrived about 10 minutes early to our reservation and we were sat promptly. We were given the choice of seating so we chose to sit outside on the balcony since it was a perfect day. We were greeted right away by our waitress and she explained the menu to us and also gave us the specials for the day. She offered us drinks but we were not drinking that day so she offered us some mocktails and we chose the Watermelon mint troubadour! Awesome drink, great tasting and refreshing! So good we both ordered two! We ordered a few appetizers and the first to arrive was the crab cake! It was all crab and no cake! Perfectly cooked and assembled! Second to arrive was the A5 Japanese Wagyu and the HOT stone! It def grabbed the attention of the other patrons as we cooked it at the table! Once done the steak was so flavorful and tender and the pairing sauces were perfect! For entrees my wife ordered the 6 Oz. American Wagyu Filet Oscar topped which also came with asparagus, and she ordered a side of augratin potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender enough to cut with a spoon the Oscar topping tasty and all crab! The potatoes hot creamy and so cheesy! I ordered the Miso Glazed Sea Bass with wok style broccolini, and sticky rice! The fish was so thick and flakey and cooked to perfection! The sauce and veggies were sweet, smokey and just yum! We also ordered 1/2lb of the King Crab legs and they were pre-cut opened up and full of butter so delish! For dessert we took recommendation of our waitress and got the special it was a Raspberry chocolate ganache thingy that was out of this world! It was a pricey lunch but it was all so worth it for everything to be perfect for my wife's special day. We will definitely be back to try more of that amazing menu and for the awesome staff!

I write reviews when I am blown away...positively and negatively! Definitely a POSITIVE experience all around at Brenners on the river walk in San Antonio!!! We had my son‘s college graduation party with 16 of us in a private area. The service was amazing the minute we walked through the door, thank you Arianna Also Erin our banquet coordinator was phenomenal!!! So accommodating it was silly how many times I changed the headcount on her and she was nothing but wonderful and pleasant. Thank you Brenner’s!

Loved the service and all the food. The three course meal was reasonable and ask for the wine paring. I ordered lambchops medium-rare but it came out more raw than I expected but still tased good. All.the other dishes we perfect an excellent.

I stopped in for a quick visit and am happy I did. The pianist was playing and singing when I arrived and she was wonderful. The ambiance of this restaurant is beautiful. Service was great. Food came out beautifully cooked and prepared. The menu is exceptional. Thanks

First time here during an annual work trip and absolutely LOVED my whole experience here! For starters, you get the option to eat either inside to enjoy a low-lit atmosphere with the possibility of some live music, or you can sit outside near the riverwalk! As for the food, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My group got multiple apps and sides (see pictures), and for the entrees nearly all of us got steaks which were cooked exacly how we asked. Not to mention the staff was great and the layout of the restaurant created a relaxing vibe! One thing to note is it is a little more pricey and has a more dressy-casual dress code. My husband said he wanted to take me on a date night so of course I took it upon myself to pick an upscale restaurant. I’m a nurse and wear scrubs mostly so great excuse to dress up. I found Brenner’s fairly quickly when I looked up the top restaurants in San Antonio. Well let me tell you, I’m glad we found this gem! The lighting, the greeting at the door, and the soft live music was perfect. It wasn’t overly crowded or loud. A very intimate experience for us. Our server Celeste, hands down one of the best I’ve had in a verrrrrry long time! She was so helpful with any questions we had and her recommendations were on point. She definitely knows her stuff. She was super sweet and kind and not pushy to try to upsell anything. The food, omg I cannot even begin to say how amazing it was! My husband had the bone in ribeye 22 oz and I had the 6 oz American Wagyu. Perfectly cooked and seasoned! The cognac peppercorn sauce they let us taste before ordering and it was heaven! We also had the hot stone Japanese wagyu for appetizer and what an experience! I could literally bathe in the sauces that accompanied it as well. Hands down, I will be recommending this to everyone! First time here just ordered shrimp and a steak was really flavorful and juicy. Overall great experience, professional, & friendly staff. Spent around 126.00 for one person plus I gave 20% tip 26. I had 1 appetizer, 2 drinks, & 1 strip steak. Good view on the riverwalk. I think my servers name was Connor great service!

The dining experience was great start to finish. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and the table next to us had their proposal. The waiter was very attentive, often checking in. He also explained the specials and items on the menu, providing us some recommendations. The food was wonderful and definitely did not disappoint! My only comment would be maybe to replace the Cranberry/Walnut bread with a different bread but obviously that's just personal preference. The atmosphere was great. We got a table overlooking the restaurant and the piano. The pianist sang songs from the 90s and 00s with her own little twist.
